LUC JASMIN FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE
Bold leadership that delivers for everyone in Washington's Third Legislative District. Spokane residents are working harder than ever and still falling behind. Not because of lack of effort. Because the system is not built for most of us.
Housing
Too many Spokane residents are being priced out of their homes.
I have worked for years on housing solutions here, revitalizing existing homes, improving energy efficiency and safety, and pressing utilities to lower costs for lower-income and aging residents.
With the late Sandy Williams and the Fifth Avenue Forward community, we organized to revitalize land along Interstate 90 that once held hundreds of homes in Spokane’s largest communities of color. Those families were displaced. We must rebuild what was lost. Mixed-income housing near transit, community-led planning, state incentives for green space and tree canopy, and accessible sidewalks so everyone moves with dignity.
Cost of Living
As a community-focused entrepreneur, I have created local jobs and built businesses that stay in Spokane and treat workers with dignity. In Olympia, I will stand up for living wages, strong worker protections, and local jobs that support families, not just corporate profits.
Seniors and Protecting Our Rights
Our seniors built Spokane. They should never have to choose between medication and groceries or sit on endless waitlists for care.
We must fully fund community-based care, lower prescription costs, and protect health care access from political games. Every person deserves to age with dignity and security. That is a promise we owe one another.
Childcare and Education
Every child in Spokane deserves a real shot at success, no matter their zip code.
I have built early learning programs from the ground up and seen where the system fails kids and families. We must fully fund kindergarten through grade twelve, pay providers and educators what they deserve, and make sure schools are funded like the future depends on them, because it does.
Families need affordable, high-quality childcare and early learning so parents are not forced to choose between a paycheck and their kids' care. Providers should not struggle to survive while doing one of the most important jobs in our community. We must build a system that values children, supports parents, and sustains educators. When our kids thrive, Spokane thrives.
Healthcare
Health care should be a guarantee, not a gamble.
Families and seniors are being crushed by rising health care and long-term care costs. No one should be one illness, accident, or prescription away from crisis. I will work to protect and expand coverage, lower prescription and out-of-pocket costs, and invest in home and community-based care so people can stay in their homes as they age.
Health care decisions belong to patients and providers, not politicians. I will stand up against attacks on reproductive rights, mental health care, and protections for people with disabilities. I will work for a system that puts people first, so every Spokane resident can get the care they need and still afford to live with dignity.
